Vic: Gunmanmay steals "six figure sum" from casino
A gunman stole a six-figure sum of money from the high roller room at Melbourne's CrownCasino early this morning.
Police say a man armed with a handgun held up the Mahogany Room about 5am (AEST) andfled in a taxi.
He left a wad of cash in the car when he was dropped off in the Kensington area inMelbourne's north-west.
The taxi driver handed the money over to police a short time later.
Crown Casino spokesman GARY O'NEILL has told ABC radio he believes a six-figure sumof money was stolen.
He says no shots were fired, but several staff were traumatised.
He says he doesn't know how many people were at the casino at the time, but it's unlikelyto have been very busy.
