NSW:Katoomba bones could be missing woman

A bushwalker has found human remains near a famous Blue Mountains tourist spot.

The skeletal remains haven't been formally identified, but police say they have referred
the case to a taskforce investigating the disappearance of 60-year-old Katoomba woman
MARGARET HILLS in February last year.

Police say the remains were found below Echo Point at Katoomba on Saturday afternoon,
and have been taken to Glebe morgue.

Forensic experts have also taken a number of items for further investigation.

Police say they are treating the death as suspicious and are examining records of missing
people with a number of lines of inquiry being followed.
