QLD:Pastor to become gay union celebrant
A Christian pastor is hoping to be one of the first civil partner celebrants in Queensland
under the state's brand new Civil Partnerships Bill, passed earlier this week.
LEIGH NEIGHBOUR has presided over hundreds of partnership ceremonies for gays and lesbians
at Brisbane's Metropolitan Community Church.
Rev NEIGHBOUR says he's already read over the new bill and plans to apply through the
marriage registry as soon as he's able.
He says he would love to be the first person to marry a same-sex couple in Queensland
under the new laws.
